Real situations. Real families.
Real support when it mattered most.
These are examples of how I’ve helped people navigate complex and often overwhelming situations.
STORY 1 — Mom
Dementia/End of Life Care
In 2015, my mother moved in with me as her dementia progressed. From 2019 until her passing in 2021, I served as her primary caregiver, coordinating medical care, legal and financial decisions, daily support, and end-of-life planning while working closely with physicians, specialists, and family members to honor her wishes with dignity and compassion.
Her journey taught me firsthand how overwhelming caregiving can be—and how much families need a trusted guide when navigating difficult decisions.
🌿 Navigated advanced dementia care for my own mother
🌿 Coordinated care, legal decisions, and end-of-life planning
🌿 Worked across family members to honor her wishes
🌿 Managed emotional and logistical complexity during an intense period

STORY 2 — Gordon
Multi-State Family Support
After the sudden loss of his life partner, I helped Gordon’s family navigate dementia care, caregiving coordination, and a deeply emotional cross-country transition.
🌿 Managed in-home caregiving for a father with dementia
🌿 Coordinated across four siblings in different states
🌿 Worked with Kaiser and oversaw care decisions
🌿 Helped transition him to Virginia, where he passed surrounded by family
Carrie provided extraordinary support to our family during a very emotional and complex period of our father’s life. She helped coordinate care, communicate with providers, organize logistics, and bring calm and clarity to difficult decisions.
Carrie even personally accompanied and transported Gordon from Berkeley to Virginia so he could spend his final days at home surrounded by family. Her compassion, steadiness, and dedication meant more to us than we can fully express.
Beyond her practical help, Carrie brought warmth, humanity, humor and genuine presence to Gordon and to all of us. We trusted her completely, and her support made an enormous difference during an extremely difficult time for our family.

STORY 3 — Tony
Assisted Living & Legacy Support
I helped Tony and his family navigate assisted living decisions with clarity, compassion, and a focus on preserving connection, dignity, and family history.
🌿 Helped evaluate senior living options across California
🌿 Compared care levels, financials, and long-term fit
🌿 Simplified a complex and overwhelming decision process
🌿 Created a recorded life-story interview to preserve memories for his family

Not only did Carrie help us begin the process of exploring Assisted Living Options, but one of the most meaningful gifts she provided our family was helping preserve Tony’s life story. She spent time interviewing him about his memories, experiences, and reflections — something he genuinely loved, and something he and our family will continue to treasure.

STORY 4 — Petra
Disability & Insurance Support
While undergoing cancer treatment, Petra needed support navigating disability benefits, insurance systems, paperwork, and overwhelming next steps.
